How long are piano lessons?

Where will the piano lessons take place?

I teach piano lessons in Bournemouth at my home music studio. Virtual lessons can also be conducted through Skype or Facetime.

My piano lessons are thoughtfully structured to foster a deep understanding of music through a blend of practical and theoretical skills. This comprehensive approach lays a strong foundation for your musical growth, whether you are learning for fun or aiming for piano exams and higher proficiency. No matter your current level, I customise each lesson to ensure you feel comfortable and confident as you progress toward your personal musical goals.

How are piano lessons structured?

While there are budget-friendly options, both acoustic and electric pianos can be significant investments. If you're a beginner unsure about committing to the piano, I recommend starting with a few lessons to see if it’s the right fit for you. Should you decide to continue, I can provide recommendations for pianos that match your needs and budget. In order to excel and enjoy playing the piano, practice between lessons is a necessity!

Do I need my own piano?

I welcome students of all ages, but recommend a minimum age of 6 years old to start piano lessons. At this age, children typically have the necessary motor skills and attention span to benefit from structured lessons. However, I am happy to work with you in assessing your child if they are under 6 years old to determine if they are ready to begin. Each child is unique, and some may show readiness earlier based on their interest and developmental level. We can schedule a trial lesson to evaluate their readiness and ensure that learning piano will be a positive and enjoyable experience for them.
